Dolphin, kate and kwrite with admin access
We have been long time without execute kde apps with admin privileges. In OpenStage we think that this is a big error, each user must be free to choose about his/her OS and what to do on it. The freedom of Open Source is about give an alternative with no restictions. When you include less options is an involution.
SELinux and Firewalld security protects you
Actually GNU/Linux distributions are much more secure than other OS, in all my time using Linux nerver had a problem with virus or spyware. This doesn't means that you will never have a problem about, for this reason all OpenStage Staff give an special atencion to system security and internet access. SELinux will prevent apps to access into intrusive way on your computer while Firewall adds a shield in your internet connection and put limits to other persons to get your stored data.
System performance and optimization
To get the best performance all the team was agree that the best start point is to build and configure our own kernel, if the base is wrong the rest will be wrong to. Our kernel is compatible with any other kernel of ArchLinux or AUR so users must not be afraid. Since the first moment we wanted the better and smooth performance in our Kernel such as better compatibility with devices and partition types, also Aufs is patched and enabled by default.
Another element that gives a better experience using your computer is to compress your ram proccesses making your system more fast. To comple the optimization we installed GoPreload, a tool that allows to your system to charge the most used apps during boot and execute them so much fast, but it needs a post-configuration, click here to know more.
